Scampi Festival
From May 15 to May 31, restaurants across the Crikvenica–Vinodol Riviera have created special scampi menus to further highlight this exceptionally high-quality and prized ingredient, allowing all Riviera visitors to enjoy its unique flavours.
Why scampi? Because they are a premium seafood delicacy and a symbol of our region, especially the Vinodol Channel, where scampi grow larger and tastier than those found in the open sea thanks to the seabed composition, sea temperature, and the many freshwater springs that create a unique mix of brackish and seawater.

During the Scampi Festival, two exclusive dinners will also take place in Crikvenica restaurants – Burin (May 15) and Dida (May 29). These unique dinners feature carefully designed scampi-based menus interpreted by top chefs who combine local tradition with contemporary gastronomy. These intimate premium experiences further emphasise the quality and creativity of Kvarner cuisine – a perfect opportunity for true gourmets seeking unforgettable Riviera flavours.
On May 23, all interested visitors will have the chance to discover the authentic heart of the local fishing tradition in Klenovica. This small coastal village reveals the true story of Klenovica scampi – where the sea, the wind, and generations of fishermen’s experience create the unique taste of the Adriatic.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience scampi fishing firsthand – going out to sea, lifting the traps, and learning about the fishing grounds where this top-quality delicacy originates. The programme continues along the waterfront with the Scampi Feast, featuring fresh scampi dish tastings, a glass of wine, and music performed by Klapa Intriga.

The price of the excursion with tasting is €15.00 per person (included in the price: shrimp fishing and socializing with fishermen at sea, tasting of one shrimp dish on the waterfront in Klenovica, a glass of wine, and entertainment with live music on the waterfront).
For everyone who was unable to secure a spot on the shrimp fishing excursion, the Shrimp Festival is open to all visitors! The program begins at 10:00 AM with a great atmosphere and local shrimp specialties available at a price of €10.00.
