The best dog beach in Croatia, Podvorska, was opened in July 2010, and every year since then it has more and more amenities on offer, from the shower intended only for pets, to dog playing areas. Entrance to the beach is free, and the rules of conduct are explained on an instruction board. The beach has won numerous prizes and has become popular with many dog owners and their pets. Today it is known all over the world. In addition to playing in the sea, your pets can freshen up in their own shower, relax under a marquee, or even have a beer in the bar. Yes, you read that correctly. Monty’s Dog Beach & Bar in Crikvenica is the first bar of its kind in Croatia and offers beer, ice cream, cake and herbal teas for your dog.
If your dog needs the advice of a vet, don’t worry, the Crikvenica Riviera has got everything you need. Many accommodation facilities here are pet friendly and there is even an event in September – Crikvenica 4 Pets – dedicated to our four-legged friends.

If you’re looking for a place where you can take a walk with your pet, we recommend the Love Path or Mediterranean Labyrinth of Love in Crikvenica, and the fantastic Kačjak-Perhati trail, which connects Dramalj and Jadranovo. For those in search of quiet and idyllic green surroundings, the area of Vinodol offers walks around Lake Tribalj and a scenic forest, which are less than half an hour's drive away.
