OXY POLYCLINIC FOR BAROMEDICINE

OXY is a private medical institute specialising in hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). HBOT is a scientifically based therapy which consists of inhaling 100% medicinal oxygen under high pressure for diseases and conditions when patients lack oxygen in the tissue. The hyperbaric oxygen is used for treating various types of disease, speeding up recovery from sports injuries or extreme physical exertion, improving physical fitness in athletes, as recompression therapy for divers, and for emergency treatment. The polyclinic includes a central unit in Pula as part of Pula General Hospital, a Zagreb subsidiary as part of Dubrava Clinical Hospital Centre, a Dubrovnik subsidiary as part of Dubrovnik General Hospital, a Crikvenica subsidiary as part of Thalassotherapia Crikvenica Special Hospital.

In 2010, the Oxy Polyclinic became a teaching centre of the University of Rijeka School of Medicine
