Crikvenica Town Day 2026: A Celebration of the Town, Its People and Community

This year, the Town of Crikvenica is once again celebrating Crikvenica Town Day and the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the town's patron saint, with a rich two-day programme taking place on 14 and 15 August 2026.

The programme begins on Friday, 14 August, with a solemn concelebrated Mass at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, followed by the traditional “1,000 Candles” procession in honour of the Assumption. The main evening event will take place at Stjepan Radić Square, where Tony Cetinski, Funky Town & Ivana Kindl will entertain residents and visitors, with the celebration culminating in a midnight fireworks display.

On the Feast of the Assumption itself, Saturday, 15 August, a solemn Mass will be held at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The sporting programme will feature the 116th Šilo–Crikvenica Swimming Marathon, one of the longest-running sporting events in the area. The evening programme at Stjepan Radić Square will feature a concert by one of Croatia’s most popular performers, Damir Kedžo, while in Jadranovo, in front of St James’ Church, the traditional concert by Vitomir Ivanjek, “Summer Intermezzo”, will be held.

Throughout both days, visitors will also be able to enjoy free admission to the Crikvenica Town Museum, the Crikvenica Town Gallery and the Fishermen’s Cottage in Jadranovo, where they can view current exhibitions and discover part of Crikvenica’s rich cultural and historical heritage.
