This is an event that opens a window into the interior world of a small coastal town, showing its particular customs, products and traditions, as well as its precious cultural and historical heritage. You cannot fail to fall in love with the charm of Selce, and the best time to do so is during the (Sr)etno Selce event, when you can experience all the above at the same time. Folk customs and traditions are presented to visitors in a way that is interesting for the young, while giving older generations the opportunity to remember them with nostalgia. Visit Selce and experience its local traditions first-hand!

  • Traditional and eco products fair – along the waterfront
  • Outdoor food and drink offerings – center
  • Exhibition of old items and handicrafts  A peek into Selce's past – Stara škola Selce -  center
  • Presentation of traditional crafts and forgotten skills – fishnet weaving, washing laundry in the old fashioned way at a  'perilo',  sewing on a vintage sewing machine, demonstration of homemade pasta making, and crafting laurel wreaths.

  • Children's program - workshops and animation – Harmica

  • Sailing on traditional wooden boat - guc – port

  • Foto exhibition – Selce – štirna (by the old well)

  • 20:00 Traditional straw beating demonstration accompanied by 'selačko kolo' – a traditional Selce's folklore dance
