Sailing Spring cup - Optimist class

CRIKVENICA HOSTS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT OPTIMIST REGATTAS IN CROATIA

From April 23 to 26, 2026, Crikvenica will host a selection criteria sailing regatta with the highest coefficient for the Optimist class, organized by the Sailing Club J.D. “VAL”. Crikvenica has once again been recognized as a top-tier host and organizer of high-level sailing competitions, and J.D. “VAL” has been given the honor of organizing one of the four most important Optimist class regattas in Croatia.

New Competition System

According to the new competition system, five qualification regattas are held, from which the top 80 young sailors from Croatia qualify for the selection criteria regattas. These 80 most successful competitors will participate in Crikvenica. Participants range in age from 8 to 15 years and represent the most talented young sailors from clubs across Croatia.

Sports Program

Over the four days, nine races are planned, depending on weather conditions. One race lasts approximately 50 minutes under ideal sea conditions.

On the final day of the regatta, awards will be ceremonially presented to the best competitors. After each competition day, a joint dinner is organized for the sailors and their coaches, further promoting sportsmanship and fair play.
