"Jelenina" - Feast of St. Helen, the patron saint of Dramalj

<p>The celebration of the Feast of St. Helen, the patron saint of Dramalj, includes sport, cultural, entertainment and religious programmes. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy in music programme, and to select from the wide range of culinary specialities on offer.</p>
<p><strong>DAYS OF SAINT HELENA – "JELENINA 2025" IN DRAMALJ</strong><br>

May has traditionally been the month reserved for various events in Dramalj, dedicated to the patron saint of the town, Saint Helena. Locals refer to the celebration as the Days of Saint Helena, or simply “Jelenina.”<br>
The program includes sports, cultural, and religious events and this year will run from May 15 to May 24.<br>
With a wide range of events, there’s something for every generation. The youngest can enjoy the presentation of the picture book "Searching for Saint Helena" and the special celebration on May 22. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the many tournaments including darts, handball, fishing, tennis, and bocce.<br>
The Days of Saint Helena are rich in entertainment, beginning with a performance by the band Vigor on Friday, May 16 in the town square and concluding with the 15th edition of the "Saint Helena" Klapa Festival on Saturday, May 24 in the Pazdehova harbor.<br>

Below is the detailed program of the Days of Saint Helena, with most events taking place in or around the Church of Saint Helena or at the town square:</p>

<li>May 16 18:30 – Handball (field near the church)<br>
  21:30 – Entertainment with the band Vigor</li>
<li>May 17 7:00 – Club fishing competition (Pazdehova harbor)<br>
  14:00 – Singles tennis tournament (courts at Hotel “Kvarner Palace”)</li>
<li>May 20 17:00 – Picture book presentation by Marijana Bezić: "Searching for Saint Helena", featuring students from the Dramalj Elementary School and the klapa "Sveta Jelena" (in front of the Croatian National Home)</li>

16:30 – Solemn blessing of the Calvary (gathering in Manestri)<br>
17:30 – Procession to the church<br>
18:00 – Solemn Eucharistic celebration led by Archbishop of Rijeka, Mate Uzinić (Church of Saint Helena)<br>
19:30 – Special program: Children for Saint Helena (town square)<br>
– Performance by the female klapa “Sveta Jelena”<br>
21:00 – Entertainment with the music group “Allegro”</p>

The entire event traditionally closes with the 15th Klapa Festival "Sveta Jelena" at 20:30 in the Dramalj harbor (Pazdehova), hosted by the klapa “Sveta Jelena.” Performing klapas: Hreljin, Šuferini, Kraljevica, Anima Arbae, Školji, Rusula, Škrljevo, Tamarin, Ćakulone, Sveti Ante, Figurin, Sveti Jakov, and Skalin.<br>
